Overview

It all began in April of 1958 as Vegas Valley Electric, Inc. Bill Trent, Don Stafford and Emery Branham started their infant company via a $6,000 loan from Mr. Trent's uncle.

In 1959, Mr. Branham sold his interest. In 1966, Mr. Stafford sold his remaining interest to Mr. Trent. This was followed in 1970 by the purchase of Vegas Valley Electric, Inc. by Dynalectron Corporation. This led to our present ownership group of EMCOR Group, Inc.

Dynalectric Nevada has expanded with growth in the southern Nevada area. With the experience of such early projects as the original Caesars Palace, Sahara Hotel remodel and hi-rise, Frontier Hotel, Circus-Circus Hotel, International Hotel (now the Las Vegas Hilton), Aladdin Hotel, Desert Inn Hotel and MGM Grand Hotel in Reno (now Hilton), our office and field personnel established an unparalleled history of hotel/casino construction.

During the same time frame such industrial projects as Reid Gardner Power Station, Fiber-board Paper Products and Stauffer Chemical Gas and Steam Generator Plant were completed. This work was followed by such non-gaming projects as Southern Desert Correctional Center, Las Vegas Monorail, SIIS Building Expansion, transit system to gates “C” and “D” at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas Strip Beautification Project, Phases I, II, and III of the Forum Shops at Caesars, the remodel and expansion of the Fashion Show Mall , APEX Power Plant, Aladdin Central Plant, Mandalay Convention Center, and the World Market Center Phase I, which all combine to further illustrate our capabilities.

Most of our work has been in Las Vegas and the immediate surrounding area. Laughlin, Nevada has been the site of several large projects undertaken by our company (Colorado Belle, Ramada Express, Harrah's Del Rio, and Sam's Town Gold River). A branch office was opened in Reno in 1970 and remained open for approximately ten years. Our ties to the Reno community remain strong and should the future provide opportunities, we would be able to provide for our forces for the Reno-Tahoe marketplace.
